      This is a great idea for kids in the 3rd and 4th grade for a prediction before testing for magnetism. Have a list of materials that you have around the classroom. Have the kids go around with a magnet and see if the items are magnetic. If they are magnetic, have the kids draw a smiley face in the magnetic column. If non magnetic, have them draw a frown in the non magnetic column. Very hands on experiment for the kids
