Shopping on a Budget: This style cooking island is just what I need in my 1926 farm house kitchen that has an open kitchen/dining room layout. The positioning of the stove allows the cook to interact with his guests while he is preparing the meal. The raised bar is great because (a) it "hides" the cooking area (b) provides an additional seating area (c) provides extra space for a "buffet" area!

Dining space. I like the mix of the table and chairs. Simon and Rebecca Finger's home.

Now THAT is a kitchen! The black cabinets and ceiling, the copper above the stove, the marble and the stone....everything I love!!!

Just another fabulous idea from @Ree Drummond | The Pioneer Woman.

I choose this picture in relation to a career as a chef because I think that this picture really sums up the start of a career for most chefs, and that's at home. pinterest.com/...

Dutch Blue Ceiling and Shades offset by Cream and Yellow. Love the molding and glass cabinets.

Love this kitchen. Might want to adjust color for a "real" home but this is beautiful.

The perfect kitchen for hanging out with friends and cooking on a lazy, preferably rainy, Sunday. . Oh, and it just happens to be in the South of France. Obviously.
