Good book, kinda sad.
I seemed to see mentions of this everywhere - good job on the PR. Written by a former analyst from Goldman Sachs, it follows a wealthy New York family, detailing their lifestyle and downward spiral as the SEC begins to investigate the family run hedge fund. Stellar reviews for authenticity and realism.

The Darlings ~ was on my to read list. Finished 2/23/12. What a story.....one family, Wall Street, fraud, and a lot more stuff. Kind of suspenseful in a way. I understand this is the young author's first book.
The Darlings: A Novel by Cristina Alger. My obsession with NYC often dictates what I read. I chose this one for the setting and found the story to be very entertaining.

What I'm reading now! The Secret Keeper: A Novel by Kate Morton. From the New York Times and internationally bestselling author of The Distant Hours, The Forgotten Garden, and The House at Riverton, a spellbinding new novel filled with mystery, thievery, murder, and enduring love.
In the novel The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton, a British actress returns home for her mother's 90th birthday and seeks answers to a shocking crime she witnessed when she was 16. Her mother's tale is a secret history from pre-WWII England involving mystery, murder, and love affairs.

Books. Books, books, books. I read a lot, specially when the magic makes my body hurt too much and I get to bum around the apartment. It's good for learning stuff - I know a little about most things, and a lot about some of it
#Books I am fascinated with old books and I relish in the smell and feel of an old piece of literature. I cannot imagine an old book being thrown in the garbage hence I take old novels and preserve the past for the present generations to experience. https://www.etsy.com/shop/volumevii

There's a place downtown Waterbury I've been wanting to go called John Bale book store. It's an old bookstore with a cafe.
This exact scene, right down to the lighting and the brick across the way, is my definition of HEAVEN. Over the years, everywhere I went I sought out nooks crannies in bookstores, cafes libraries that looked juuuust right, like the one in this picture. Chose my paper pens inks with the same care awareness.

The Internet has co-opted the word “browse” for its own purposes, but it’s worth pointing out the difference between browsing in a virtual realm and browsing in the actual world. Depending on the terms entered, an Internet search engine will usually come up with hundreds, thousands, or millions of hits, which a person can then skate through, clicking when she sees something that most closely echoes her interest. It is a curious quality of the Internet that it can be composed of an unfathomable multitude and, at the same time, almost always deliver to the user the bits that feed her already-held interests and confirm her already-held beliefs. It points to a paradox that is, perhaps, one of the most critical of our time: To have access to everything may be to have nothing in particular. After all, what good does this access do if we can only find our way back to ourselves, the same selves, the same interests, the same beliefs over and over? Is what we really want to be solidified, or changed? If solidified, then the Internet is well-designed for that need. But, if we wish to be changed, to be challenged and undone, then we need a means of placing ourselves in the path of an accident. For this reason, the plenitude may narrow the mind. Amazon may curate the world for you, but only by sifting through your interests and delivering back to you variations on your well-rehearsed themes: Yes, I do love Handke! Yes, I had been meaning to read that obscure play by Thomas Bernhard! A bookstore, by contrast, asks you to scan the shelves on your way to looking for the thing you had in mind. You go in meaning to buy Hemingway, but you end up with Homer instead. What you think you like or want is not always what you need. A bookstore search inspires serendipity and surprise. In Sterling, New Hampshire, 17-year-old high school student Peter Houghton has endured years of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of classmates. His best friend, Josie Cormier, succumbed to peer pressure and now hangs out with the popular crowd that often instigates the harassment. One final incident of bullying sends Peter over the edge and leads him to commit an act of violence that forever changes the lives of Sterling’s residents.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins... MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to read the other two books and maybe watch the movie <3
The Hunger Games Triology by Suzanne Collins. In my top 10 list of books worth reading. Soon in theaters!
The Hunger Games is a great read and turned out better than I expected. The main characters are complex and the story is very multi-dimensional. Going to see the movie this afternoon! #hungergames #thehungergames
Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) - Not sure if I'm going to make it all the way through this one but at least wanted to try before the movie came out.
Pick for the week of 3/16/2015: "Favorite Book that is #1 in a Series" Bonnie: The Hunger Games (Book 1) by Suzanne Collins
My favorite book trilogy! A must read, especially if you plan to see the movies. 1st book: The Hunger Games, 2nd book: Catching Fire, 3rd book: Mockingjay.
The Hunger Games (Book 1) by Suzanne Collins. I gobbled this one up in about three days. Wish I had read it before I saw the movie, though!
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. another book on my top ten list of all time favorite books. Its disturbing in the best possible way. Its a series that doesn't coddle you and isn't coated in sugar like many of the recent young adult litereature(Twilight). Its gritty and grim, and will leave you worn out from an emotional roller coaster. It has a depth to it that many YA fiction authors are afraid to use. And speaking of YA Fiction, this series isn't limited to youth, it can touch those of any age. Definitely a series worth reading.
The cheapest vacation you can buy.
