How to Brighten Whites and Remove Stains Naturally

To keep whites white Baking soda, vinegar, borax, lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide all naturally whiten. Add ½ cup of any of these cleaners to each wash cycle to keep your clothes bone white. For double duty, mix in ½ cup vinegar and ½ cup borax to your white loads. Both ingredients will help brighten whites, and the vinegar will soften clothes.

How to get your dirty whites clean again... HOT HOT HOT water, 1 cap of laundry detergent, 1 cup dish washer detergent, 1 cup bleach, 1/2 cup borax. Tell you what, you have to rewash it once to put softener in but it's the whitest you'll ever see your whites. If you omit the bleach it works great to get stains out of colors too (baby spit up is no longer a stain on OLD clothes)

How to get your whites "SUPER WHITE"! The only materials required are bleach, dishwasher detergent and water. Let your dirtiest whites soak for 30-60 minutes, then toss everything into the washer with the rest of your whites and run a cycle. I used a little less bleach than suggested and put everything into a bucket.

Giving "Bounce" Dryer Sheets the Bounce!

Giving "Bounce" Dryer Sheets the Bounce! | Use old cloths soaked in Downy to be used over and over again

My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!

Easily De-Funk Your Bath Towels

I don't have any yet but ... Wash your towels in hot water with a cup of vinegar, and then run again in hot water with a half-cup of baking soda. That will strip your towels from all of that residue and mildew smell and will actually leave them feeling fluffy and smelling fresh. (Do not add laundry detergent to either wash. Just once with vinegar and once with baking soda.) good to know for the future.

How to make your own eco-friendly homemade laundry booster to brighten laundry. Wash your clothes as usual with detergent, but add in 1/4 cup of this booster for a more thorough cleaning.

Mix a paste of baking soda and lemon juice or lemon essential oil. The consistency of the paste should be about that of pancake mix. Spread the paste all along the bottom of the toilet (where it meets the floor), the toilet seat, and any other area that gets a lot of overspray. Let it set for about 10-15 minutes. Then spray the dried paste with white vinegar. Let it fizzle. When done fizzing wipe up with a damp cloth. Don't forget about the walls and cupboards on either side of the toilet.
