Drama was the most influential writings that best expressed the Elizabethan Era. The greatest drama producer was William Shakespeare. He wrote for the theater and he wrote to appeal to all types of audiences. Shakespeare is commonly referred to as the master of the English language due to his keen insight of the human mind.

So many quotes that I've heard regularly (and have used are from this play; "sweets for the sweet", "to be or not to be", " to thine ownself be true". Thank you readers list for encouraging me to read some of the classics I missed in H.S.

Read this in high school and absolutely loved it. My favorite Shakespeare play by far.
