What makes this work, besides the tight color relationship in the blues, is the outlining of the multiple layers. This could be a handsome project for very young children if you control the palette when they create the papers.

The Pleiades - Probably like many people, whenever I look at a night sky I find myself fixating on that dim kitelike cluster of stars - and I seem to know instinctively when and where to look for them. :)

Reliquary Santon Hand Shrines by Colleen Baptista via Flickr. The hands are made of carved wood. After making the basic reliquary box ( no soldering just copper tape) the base is shaped from a piece of poster board and then covered in Apoxie clay. While the clay is still workable you can add beads or indent with other objects. Then you add the reliquary.
