Mosaic tiles with new twist and little creativity! These glass cabochons in pretty agate look absolutely delicious. The random design and fun color makes it sophisticated without being too pricey. Add a little oomph by combining some dichroic/fused glass cabs scattering. Needs to be a different color though.

If you want to change the look of your kitchen on a budget you can make a new backsplash for it. In order to minimize your expenses you can reuse different materials like wine corks or reclaimed wood from old shipping pallets.

Thought about doing this to the floor and amassed about half the pennies needed, then decided it was crazy.
