The Great Gatsby ,2013 cast and The Great Gatsby ,1974 cast. I believe that both of the movies did an amazing adaption of the book.

"Through all he said, even through his appalling sentimentality, I was reminded of something - an elusive rhythm, a fragment of lost words, that I had heard somewhere a long time ago. For a moment a phrase tried to take shape in my mouth and my lips parted like a dumb man's, as though there was more struggling upon them than a wisp of startled air. But they made no sound, and what I had almost remembered was uncommunicable forever." Nick Carraway

1974: one of the many film adaptations of the novel. (Theoni V. Aldredge won an Oscar for her costuming of The Great Gatsby, and Ralph Lauren won acclaim for the suits he fashioned for the male leads, most notably the pink suit Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford) wears on the novel’s fateful day.)

one of my all time favorite books. this would be a great image framed, hanging in my library.

Really not sure how I feel about Leo as Gatsby, but I think Carrie Mulligan will make a good Daisy. Still excited about it though.

Will you still love me when i am no longer young and beautiful -The Great Gatsby

♥ I fell in love with this book in high school and I've read it at least twice a year ever since.

Was Jay Gatsby great or just a big fool? I say the greatest ever - if for no other reason than he followed his heart and stuck with his girl to his bitter end. Laughing stock or not - he left the world still hoping , still believing , still dreaming that he'd get his girl. That's love and that's all that matters to me!

Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio portray the characters of Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby respectively in the Baz Luhrmann adaptation of "The Great Gatsby"........

seriously ... where was this when i needed it in high school!

Gatsby inspiration. If only I could go back to this decade... but with a cell phone! :) "classics never die"
