Research indicates that three minutes of spinning could quadruple memory tracks among children! A Sit 'n' Spin is not necessary, either - just have kids spin in place in the direction of their dominant hands after learning. You'll be amazed at the results. *PARENTS: If your child is having trouble with spelling tests, try having him/or her spin after studying them. Mothers have come back and told me it is the first time their children EVER made 100 on their spelling tests!
What a great idea.. Have each teacher secretly sign "Oh, the Places You'll Go" from Pre-K to High School at the end of each year and give it to your child at graduation. Love this! Its my favorite book!
"Ironically, many children are walking around with an underdeveloped vestibular (balance) system today--due to restricted movement. In order to develop a strong balance system, children need to move their body in all directions, for hours at a time. Just like with exercising, they need to do this more than just once-a-week in order to reap the benefits. Therefore, having soccer practice once or twice a week is likely not enough movement for the child to develop a strong sensory system."
For all you teachers! Attendance Motivation- This PBIS attendance reenforcer is originally meant for a class, but it also could be great for a student who is always tardy and/or misses the first period of the day.
