There are 4 portion control areas - 2 for fruits and veggies, 1 for starches and 1 for protein. A line in the middle of each cavity represents a half cup, with full cup measurements at the top. The bottom "moon" shape is for protein, in which there is also a line to guide you in proper portioning of your protein. Simply place Meal Measure on your plate, fill to desired measurements depending on the meal / age, and lift up. Your portions are perfectly measured!
