I ended up touching it up with white paint to perfect the lines. It's a great piece of artwork though and it gets tons of compliments. I can do this with my kid's canvas paintings .. excited. 1) Paint whole canvas in different colors 2) Cut strips of painter’s tape of the same size 3) Tape them onto the canvas in a herringbone pattern leaving some out 4) Spray paint whole canvas in white. 5) Finish painting edges of canvas
Put masking tape on canvas in the design of your choice, spray paint a base color over the tape, use different acrylic colors (like $1.50 or less for a tube at Michael's or Hobby Lobby) and paint different strokes all over canvas. Wait till it dries, then remove tape and...wa la!
