Alvar Aalto was born on February 3, 1898 in Koutrane, Finland and past away on May 11, 1976 in Helsinki Finland. Alvar Aalto studied at Helsinki university of technology, he is an architect as well as a sculptor. "God created paper for the purpose of drawing architecture on it. Everything else, at least for me, an abuse of paper." (architecture, furniture, glass, sculptor, painter)
I typed in Architect Portraits and found pages and pages of images like this... "I do not write, I build." - Alvar Aalto. He is now called the "Father of Modernism". Aalto was a famous Finnish architect. One of his designs for a New York's World Fair in 1939 was described as a "work of genius" by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Alvar Aalto began designing furnishings as early as the 1920's. They were a natural and important extension of his architectural thinking. To Aalto, a piece of furniture was not simply an isolated object in space. He was a comprehensive artist in the architectural and design fields who focused his attention on even the smallest of details. Artek was established in 1935 to market his furniture, lamps and fabrics.

The framework consist of four geometric structures made of steel and glass that rotate at different speed. Every structure has its own purpose: first contains legislative body, second - executive, third by information centre and its maintenance (radio, telegraph and etc) and the forth - unknown.
