Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult *A contemporary Amish tale. The premise of the book is a dead infant to a Amish teenager who SWEARS up & down she did not kill her baby. Her attorney is from the city & is running from demons of her own but, begrundgingly lands herself in this strange society with their constant rules defending the young teenager. Very good book that they also made a Lifetime movie of."
Amish! This is my favorite of Jodi Picoult's books, and one of my favorite books in general. Well researched in portraying the Amish characters, and a fantastic "didn't see that coming" ending. Highly recommend this one!
My first and favorite Jodi Picoult book! Whenever I have 'book discussions' with people and tell them this. She is the best writer today. When I picked up her first book, "Plain Truth" I thought she was an amish writer because her story placed me in that situation. I have read every book since then and each one still gives me that feeling and makes me questions the information that I use to make decisions about life.
Loved this one! Even got my husband to read it with me! Love all her books. They are all on my Books Worth Reading list.
Any Jodi Picoult book is worth reading

Ninteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
Very well written book about a school shooting. Heart wrenching and suspenseful. They used the Thurston shooting quite a few times in this book as an example.
