Bobbette Rose | Liminal Moment, 2012 | encaustic monotype on paper, 40"x15". These paintings are done on a heated plate with pigmented wax. Paper is layed on top and the image is offset onto the paper. She does several thin layers, each time laying the paper onto the heated plate. In the final stages she often paints back into the image with oil paint and a brush. Japanese washi paper used for this process, then matt and frame under glass.
