As part of the renovation, the homeowners added a new fireplace to anchor the living room. The fireplace creates a warm and cozy atmosphere and gives the open floor plan some definition.

    Modern stone fireplace for 2 story space

    Close to the fireplace we are building. Except - Missouri rock from 1800s slave built rock fence from our farm, granite slab, taller seat & electric fire. Now wondering if we should replace wood trim at ceiling?

    Told the hubby I want to do slate mosiac tile for the fireplace. Now that I've found this pic on @Thrifty Decor Chick's blog I know that I am right. Hubby prefers glass mosaic, but we already have some "bling: with our finky winery posters. I think this will bring a nice natural element to the room.
