The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins...I am halfway through this, but I already know this book is well written and is a book worth reading. I wanted to read it before seeing the movie, which I thought I would never want to see. I was wrong about that!
Vicki's pick: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book was so awesome, and I am really looking forward to the movie that's coming out next week! I am taking my daughter along with a group of her friends to the premier.

My favorite book :)))...The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd is the story of Lily Owens, whose life is shaped by the blurred memory of the day her mother was killed. When her fierce-hearted "stand-in mother" insults the town's racists, Lily decides they should escape to a town in S. Carolina that holds the secret to her mother's past. They are taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters who introduce Lily to a mesmerizing world of bees, honey, & the Black Madonna who presides over their household.

Mockingjay: And so the story ends... the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy is a bit of a tearjerker and well worth reading.
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - The conclusion of the Hunger Games trilogy. Picks up where Catching Fire leaves off. Probably my least favorite of the three, but it ends the way I hoped it would. (These are so much better than the movies by the way - Sorry Jen...)
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - This is the third installment in the Hunger Games trilogy. I have not talked to one person who wasn’t disappointed by it – but that’s not to say they didn’t race through all three books to see what happened.
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins: Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath: This book is a large part of why I was weird and never spoke to anyone in high school. I still keep in on my shelf and re-read it often.
The Bell Jar - by Sylvia Plath. I went through a period of Sylvia Plath mania when I was in high school. This was the paperback edition that I put inside my 10th grade English textbook and read in class while we were supposed to be reading Julius Caesar. An eye-opening read for this 15-year-old in the 70s.

100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This is one of my favorite books of all time.
One Hundred Years of Solitude (Spanish: Cien años de soledad, 1967), by Gabriel García Márquez
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. The story that defines the term “magical realism” tells of the rise and fall, birth and death of the town of Macondo, as seen through the eyes of the Buendía (literally, “good day”) family. Considered a masterpiece in the art of fiction, this novel is both moving and lyrical, full of insight and compassion. The author, recently deceased, was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature.
Of course, anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is worth reading to me, but this is my favorite
