LOVE this idea! Can't wait to find someone else's junk, and create a fabulous one of a kind Headboard! I love how the look is imperfect and has flaws and age! The best part is, when you are tired of this look, it is as simple as taking it down and creating a whole new look.....without having to buy an entire new bed! Definately going to check out Craigslist for discarded shutters!!! Barnwood Head Board I made this and love it! Mine is a little different. I was able to find boards that are red, grey and yellow with mold. The boards that I used were uneven and hail damaged. They even come with a little bird poop! Mine is this tall too but its too tall for our room. I'm going to have to cut the boards down a little shorter.
I had a whole plan drawn up to make a headboard out of an old door and everyone said I was crazy...that it wouldn't look right. Then look what I find on Etsy! I love how he put the tin ceiling tiles in it too. Amazing....
