Trainer Rudy Rodriguez confirmed Friday that Vyjack will start in the 145th Belmont Stakes June 8. Rodriguez was pleased with how his charge handled the track, and indicated the gelding would run. As of now, Rodriguez is unsure of the jockey for Vyjack. If Orb doesn’t run, he said that Joel Rosario will be in the saddle. If Orb does go, he will look for another rider. Also on Friday, Bob Baffert confirmed that Code West would not run in the 12-furlong classic.
