St. Margaret Mary Alacoque spread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She received visions of Jesus & Mary with emphasis on the infinite love of Christ, and how this love is spurned by men. The spread of this devotion was important to counteract rebellion and heresy in 17th century France. In one vision Jesus said: “Look at this Heart which has loved people so much, and yet they do not want to love Me in return. Through you My divine Heart wishes to spread its love everywhere on earth.”
