Maybe do a retro toy story theme in one of my kids rooms... (they will be retro by then)

Vintage Disney Posters of toy story by Tom Whalen. Love the Toy Story. The colors have good depth. I like how each character has a down the middle split of a light side and shadow side. The colors match from the original colors the characters are in but in a different way that makes it look old. The logo of Toy Story coming out of the frame give the poster more interest.

Another minimalist poster from Pixar, from one of their most popular films. Again, only two colors but still wildly effective because the image is so recognizable. It even has an emotional quality to it because in the last movie, Woody finds a new home and gets a new owner but we will always associate him as Andy's favorite toy.

Have you seen Randy Pausch's "Last Lecture?" (If you haven't look for it on youtube.) He refers to a guy named Andy van Dam. Andy from Toy Story is named after the same Andy.

Toy Story "Andy" boots that I want SO MUCH. Alternate plan--get brown boots and make magic happen.

Possible background image? I would remove the 2 arms in the picture along with the title and add my own things to it to make it my own.

stuffbyberry: BRICK BY BRICK. Tom Whalen is at it again - check out his Lego Movie poster design. Good stuff.

This is one of my favorite types of illustrations: clean cut, simply shaded, vector drawings! I love it even more when its some sort of pop culture reference. I used to watch Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies as a kid, too :) This illustration also works (for me) because of the pretty-much symmetrical composition and the color pallette.

Love Foghorn Leghorn! I'm also a huge fan of the clean cut, vector style this illustration has. The composition is mostly symmetrical and tells a little bit of a story.

tom whalen //Sherlock print. Very cool usage of space. I like how one part of the image would seamlessly belong to something else. (for ex. The shadow of the jacket also acts as the backdrop of the building) I love the style-- it's a very fitting design for that time period.
