    Escargot Begonia (or Ram's Head Begonia): Enormous leaves of this house plant begonia swirl inward just like ram's horns. The silvery-green leaves have a chocolate-brown border and center. Stems are covered with tiny, maroon hairs. Bears white flowers, but grow it for its leaves!

Begonia rex ‘Escargot’ might just be the perfect house plant, as it resists diseases and insects. Will do very well in a conservatory, a greenhouse, a windowsill or in a summer patio/yard container; perennial evergreen with flowers in fall; hardy in zones 10-11

I am going to plant red and yellow begonias in my garden. They are similar to carnations. In early July I found that one out front had come up but none of the others ever came up.

begonia - there aren't too many flowers that like the shade, but this is one of them. Come in a variety of shades too.
