Paper Lantern | Groundcherry, genus Physalis of the nightshade family. It is a relative of the tomato. Its fruit is encased in this papery husk. Tomatillo is a cultivated variety, often used in salsa verde. Found in Southern Louisiana.

In all my years of going to Martha's Vineyard, I've never been there for Illumination Night. MUST go!

    You MUST! Stoll around during the day and you will meet everyone putting up their lanterns. You will see kids out with their lemonade & cookie stands. It's really something to see.
