After teaching & practicing writing with students, I have them write a paragraph on their own. On the day I return the graded paragraph, they all get to make a sub with only the parts of the paragraph they have in their graded work....no conclusion, no bottom bun :-) only one supporting sentence, only one condiment. It is a ton of fun to watch the kids make and eat their subs.

KMG-1 minute activities to get the kids up and moving :-) Sometimes they just need a break! This is such a wonderful idea for young students, especially kindergarteners. This would be a great idea for the students to come pick one out of the bucket for the class and then we can all participate together. Also, at the beginning of the year, I have the students come up with these break ideas with me, so that way I will know that they will enjoy the brain breaks throughout the day.
