Rethinking the Book Box

Great Anchor chart and encourages reading stamina: micro reads, short reads, and independent.

This is incredibly like the structure I use with students in high school. We call it ICEE: Identify (support for topic) Cite (evidence from text) Explain/Explain (what is the point of the cite? How does it connect to the topic or deeper meaning being explored?). In general, a well-developed paragraph has a Topic ICEE ICEE ICEE Conclusion ~ but for the best writers, this the structure is elastic.

Leveled Text Bookmark Chart, good idea to have this for uncategorized books. ...... Follow for free 'too-neat-not-to-keep' teaching tools other fun stuff :)
