1885 back - Two-piece dress (bodice and skirt). The bodice is closed frontally by a lacing probably expected to remain large, and to reveal the lace underneath. ____ (translated from Italian by Google)

Evening dress, ca 1885, Abiti Antichi I would like to wear this dress for just one day.

1885 - American, silk: "The passementerie on this elegant dress is clearly influenced by the Arts and Crafts design aesthetic which was extremely popular 1880 and 1910. This is an excellent example of how a movement which is mostly based in architecture and interior design crept into clothing, showing the proponents' desire to live the style in its entirety."

1870's party dress by eileen Is it weird that I think this is cool??

Evening dress, circa 1885, Abiti Antichi (back) My note: I think this dress is misdated. The sleeves look like mid 1890's, and this dress looks like it'd be worn without a bustle or with a very small one which would make more sense in 1895 than 1885.

It is correctly dated on the original website. Whoever re-posted it elsewhere made a typo and it just got re-posted like that. Here's the original page (scroll down for the dress, dated 1895): http://www.abitiantichi.it/...
