    DIY Floam via e-sling.net materials: 2 tsp. borax 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup elmer's glue 1/4 cup water food coloring an air-tight plastic bag 5/3 cups of polystyrene beads. You can substitute 2/3 cups micro-beads (1 mm from Jo-Ann Fabrics) and 1 cup bean bag filler (1/8"). You can also grate styrofoam cups or packing peanuts. how to: Dissolve 2 tsp. borax in 1/2 cup of water. In another bowl, mix 1/4 cup of white glue and 1/4 cup of water. Add food coloring if you want colored floam. Pour your glue solution into the air-tight bag. Then add 3 tbsp of the borax/water mixture to your glue solution, do not mix. You will have some borax/water solution left over. Next, add the polystyrene beads. Seal bag and knead by hand until mixed. Let the bag stand for 15 minutes. Then knead for a few more minutes

Homemade floam is easy to make and SO FUN! It can be molded and shaped but is also squishy and gooey. It has a really unique texture that is irresistible to touch. It is also much cheaper than the store bought stuff!

DIY Lace Shorts! I'm going to do this with all of my shorts!

DIY Map covered letters. Would be cool to cover with maps of meaningful places. Could do each child's name and a map of the state with the city they were born in for each kid!

Temporarily afix doily to clothing, using fabric paint, apply a coat of paint to the doily. Remove the doily and voila, an intricate lace design applique!
