Well said...love this!
Good one! so true!
I so love this!
I'm with Vanessa. I'm not willing to give up control of my attitude to others, but judging from some heated responses here, I may be in the minority!
Hmmmm, I think this statement is a cop out. You can't control other people or how they act towards you, but you can and should control yourself. How you choose to react to others who don't treat you in a way that you like is definitely part of your personality, and a telling statement about who you are.
But don't let the other person change who you truly are!
@ Deborah Speece: I whole-heartedly agree with your comment!
This is exactly how I feel today!
It depends on how the person acts toward me.....whether or not I may get an attitude!!!!! But this is soooo True!!!!
If you allow someone's actions to determine your attitude, you allow them to control you. I would guess that's not really what you want. The happiest people I know are those who retain control of their own attitude, and choose to be calm and gracious, even when people around them are acting badly.
Good lord I'm gonna use that....and often!!
I agree with Tim O! Personal accountability is quickly fading in our culture :(
This is so me!
another way to put this: "Don't confuse my excuse-making with my blaming mentality."
No. Take responsibility for your own actions. Never blame another.
This is great
@Nicole Miller My thought every time I see this pin! =)
Love this! Need it on a shirt....
This one is a keeper...
Ain't that the TRUTH!
No. The way you treat people who rub you the wrong way is definitely part your personality and shows who you are.
Is certanly truth!!
Disagree. Your attitude is your choice, no one else is responsible
personality: the quality or state of being a person. attitude: a mental position with regard to a fact or state. a feeling or emotion toward a fact or state.
That's waaaay too much power to give away to someone else!
I take full responsibility for myself, but to say that outside factors don't effect your behavior is unrealistic. I consider myself a joyful soul that walks out in the world and expects to smile and make connections. Then someone throws a wrench in those plans sometimes, while still being me and respectful my attitude is going to change when I am stomped on or treated poorly. I don't think the quote was meant to mean every moment of everyday. Relax. You don't want your attitude to be influenced by a quote. Or, maybe it is just your personality?
I agree with Vanessa Chinn. Well said.
Lol Deanna!! Well said
I love this! My anthem!
