    A little science...This would fascinate kids. Rainbow roses, you can do this by splitting the stems into strands and placing each one in food colouring the roses draw the liquid colouring into the petals, amazing! And that was my science fair project in middle school! :) I'm not sure if this would work with Roses but maybe carnations or another flower.

Cool science experiment for kids! Rainbow Roses Get white of cream colored long stem roses. (Carnations work well too). Cut the stem according to the picture, you will then place 4 glasses of food color dyed water together. Put one piece of stem per color and allow the flower to soak up different colors.

HOW TO MAKE A RAINBOW ROSE: Obtain a perfect white rose with 8-9 inches stem. Cut the end of the stem into 4 equal parts and up 6 inches. Dip the 4 stems ends into 4 cups of food coloring & wait for 24 hours. I suggest these color combinations: red-blue-green-yellow... violet-red-blue-yellow... or yellow-purple-grey-blue.
