Teapot Terrarium, a great gift idea! via WebEcoist.... I have a teapot almost identical to this! It used to be a candle but now that it's burned down I have been trying to figure out how to reuse the teapot! This is perfect but instead of just a terrarium, I'm thinking of a mini hobbit hole, as I've been wanting to make one of those as well. Two crafts in one!!!

Teapot Terrarium! Is this tea pot garden adorable or what? Ideal as a table centerpiece, a clear tea pot filled with live or artificial plants is cute and quirky.

Tea pot terrarium. If you wish to add a romantic and rustic touch to your afternoon tea time table, transform a transparent glass teapot in a terrarium, with different kinds of plants, placed as a centerpiece.

glass container small pebbles (3/8” – ¼”) horticultural charcoal potting soil gardening gloves plants any objects you’ll include (sticks, seashells, pinecones, et cetera) Put potting mix in the teapot – enough to cover the bottom and deep enough for your plants. Give it a bit of water to get the plants settled in and growing. Afterwards only spray them once in a while for the moisture they need. Keep the glass teapot terrarium where it gets plenty of indirect light.

Raise eyebrows by growing your tomatoes underneath their pot. Whether you choose hanging baskets, a five-gallon bucket with a hole on the bottom, or a device such as this product (called the Patio Garden), it can be an interesting way to cultivate your favorite vegetable.

Cute and simple- don't water this one too much! I like the variety of textures and colours in the substrate, and the different heights of the plants.

When surrounded by glass, plants almost go on autopilot. They get the humidity they crave in even the driest of rooms. Any plant will shine, such as Scilla siberica ‘Alba’ in a bed of moss....idea from COUNTRY HOME MAGAZINE
