Raised Garden bed with cinder blocks. I'd make the footprint of the cardboard bigger than the blocks and lay it down first, then the blocks, then the dirt, then mulch around the outside, to keep the weeds down.

love the pea gravel in the walkways -- good drainage and weed control, low-maintenance and would last several years before it would need to be replenished. And yes, the raised beds are gorgeous too!
