Dress ca. 1850. It now appears to be a pale peach colour but I suspect it used to be a much more vibrant colour. When I see these pale ones though I have to admire the women who did the laundry in the house.

1850-55 American, green & black silk brocade, 2-psc evening dress with black lace trim. Note the sleeves are smaller than later in the 1860's.

1850s extant gown, MET, delicate sheer pelerine and undersleeves with ribbons on the cuff.

Chartreuse Silk Dress. The exact date for this is not known beyond the mid-19th century. I'm pinning it here due to the elongated bodice in front that seems to belong more to the 1850s than 1860s.
