Peacock Mantis Shrimp. Looks sure are deceiving here because this guy is what's known as a smasher, with club shaped raptorial appendages that it uses to repeatedly smash its prey until it can gain access to the soft tissue for consumption. It is reported to have a "punch" of over 50mph. The fastest punch of any living animal.
It's beautiful, but the very idea of this freaks the hell out of me. The vast size of the ocean blows my mind & kinda terrifies me at the same time.
