Only in Dubai: This architectural houseboat is constructed from two catamaran beams, stainless steel and glass from the Dubai firm X-Architects in collaboration with its owner, interior decorator/architect/designer Leen Vandaele, who might use the O as a prototype for a floating hotel. The vessel can be used as a weekend home or an event space. It has bedrooms, a hidden kitchen, a dining area and a spiral staircase to a sun deck. via realestate.yahoo.com
I think atriums are the the coolest! They give you a few from every room. The focal point of this one is a statue which I think is called "The Swimmer."
Rich walnut cabinets by Robert Bakes lend a warm, inviting atmosphere to the kitchen of a modern house by designer Alexandra Fazio of Cecil Baker & Partners. The backsplash is hand-troweled plaster, made to look like an old concrete wall.
