Mr Poppleton’s Horse

Horse-drawn mail van, 1887.

A black and white photographic lantern slide of room with a large wooden trough along one wall which is filled with parcels. The parcels arrive via a chute in the top right hand corner. A group of men stand next to the trough and there are large boxes divided into sections and wicker baskets to the left hand side. Date: c.1930-c.1940.

Roy Rogers & Trigger - I had this picture on my wall as a little girl...of course I think I was more in love with Trigger than Roy.

Race against the tide: Bravery of young mother who stayed by her horse's side for THREE HOURS after getting trapped in mud 'like quicksand'

The original pin only showed her holding his head up. I am so glad this story has a happy ending.
