    The Hollywood Bowl officially opened on July 11, 1922, on the site of a natural amphitheater formerly known as the Daisy Del

    Sunset Strip 1949: On the right, that's Ciro's (now the Comedy Store) and the Hacienda Park Apartments (later renamed the Coronet and is now the Plaza del Sol office building). Just beyond them, the building that housed the Clover Club can be seen. Note that, across the street from Ciro's, in the southeast corner of Olive and Sunset, is the home that is now the House of Blues. Closer in may be the roof of a house owned by John Barrymore in the 1930s.
