Red-eyed tree frogs, Sarapiquí, Costa Rica by Bruce Leventhal. I don't want to be politically incorrect, but I must admit that frogs make me laugh. Their astonishing colors, their protruding eyes, their acrobat posture, their always "game" attitude and their confident personality make them one of my favorites animal.

Amazon Milk Frogs Are Misleading - These are some really pretty photographs of the Amazon Milk Frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix). "Hmm, wonder where the name Amazon Milk Frog came from?" If you said something along the lines of maybe because the coloration of the frog resembles blotchy "milk" like patches... you'd be wrong. The "milk" part of the name actually comes from the milky, poisonous substance the frog produces when it feels threatened.

You all seemed to really enjoy this spectacular photograph of a frog sheltering from the rain earlier, so here's a few more details. The image was taken by Penkdix Palme in Jember, East Java, in Indonesia. According to the photographer the frog actually angled the leaf towards the rainfall to provide maximum shelter, and remained there for approximatelt 30 minutes.
