Painting faux marble is no puzzle.
Faux Marble Techniques for Floors
How to Paint Concrete Floors With a Marble Faux Finish. ***** Paint the entire floor with the lighter shade of the color you have chosen. For the best possible effect, remove the baseboards to allow the next step to blend in seamlessly. Let this coat of paint dry completely. Step 3 of 4 Start in the farthest corner of the area you're working on. Pour the darker shade of your chosen color into a roller pan. Dip the sponge into the paint, dab some of it off on the shallow side of the pan and begin patting the sponge on the floor; the key is getting right up next to the wall and not doing it neatly. You want it to look a bit uneven, so swirl your sponge occasionally and use more or less paint here and there. Ideally, you want only a bit of the lighter color showing through. If you are unable to get the entire surface completed in one session, place the pan in a garbage bag and the sponge in a large plastic bag and seal them up. Let the surface dry at least 24 hours before proceeding to the next step. Step 4 of 4 Pour some of the white or grey paint onto a foil-covered plate. Lightly dip the edge of the feather into the paint and then wipe most of it off on the side of the plate. Using a light stroke, make light curves here and there all over the surface of the floor to resemble the natural marks in marble.

paint a faux slate walkway on concrete using FolkArt Outdoor Opaque paint
Faux painted slate walkway-****** Folkart Outdoor Opaque, by Plaid..... ++++Starting at the front door, I began to paint in the tile lines..... ++++++I decided to go with an random tile pattern, for a more formal look.+++++++ Using a metal right angle ruler,+++++ I started plotting my course. ******I chalked in the lines first, then painted over the chalk. .......I forgot to mention, before doing any painting pressure washed the entire walkway....... ******Using a variety of browns, blues and a sandstone colored base, I began to mix my colors to create a convincing slate look. Every few tiles I added faux ridges, to further enhance the look...... *****Each day that I painted, I tried to complete one slab of concrete. I worked early in the morning, before the hot Florida sun started shining on the walkway. I typically worked for about three hours. One hazard was the late afternoon rains. +++++The paint is not supposed to get wet for, I think, 24 hours (It needs curing time). Thankfully, it did not ruin my work. The only thing that is not finished, in the above picture, is the shadow in the grout lines. I came back later to finish that..... *****Slowly I crept, slab by slab, down the walkway. I didn't work on it every morning and sometimes I went weeks without painting. ...Summer turned to fall, fall turned to winter, and winter turned to spring. Little by little as time allowed I got it done.
How to paint a faux slate walkway on concrete...................*** chalktalk, HubPages Author HOME Painting a faux slate walkway on concrete chip brushes Outdoor Folkart Opaque Source: Outdoor Folkart Opaque What you will need to get started Do you want the look of expensive slate but don't have it in your budget? Consider painting it! I painted my front walkway, using concrete paint, to look like slate! ***Using specially formulated paints specifically for concrete you can have the look of real slate at a fraction of the price...... °°°Here's what you will need:°°°°°° *****Several bottles of Folkart Outdoor Opaque paint in various colors. ====Shades of blue and green work best, with a little bit of brown. The main color used was a sand color. I mixed most colors with this one to mute the colors....... Several paint brushes in various widths. =====Don't buy expensive ones. Cheap chip brushes work perfectly..... Paper towels to wipe brushes..... A bowl of water to clean brushes..... A straight edge. ..... I use a metal right angle ruler...... A radio to keep you company. You may be there a while, depending on the size of your project... ++++++ Practice your painting techniques and color combinations on a 12" concrete paver.... ****Clean the surface that you will be painting. I pressure washed.... ****Begin by drawing your tile pattern using a piece of chalk.... ++++If you are making tiles you will need a straight edge. I chose to make a random tile pattern varying the size of the rectangles and squares in no particular order. I used a right angle metal ruler.... ***Next, paint over your chalk lines with the light sand color.... ****This paint dries to the touch in minutes...... ++++++Now begin painting in the tiles, one at a time. Paint each tile individually for a more convincing effect. Switch color ratios and combinations for each tile. This will also give a more natural look. The technique is simple. Smudge different colors together, leave it darker in some areas, lighter in others the messier and less exact the better. Have fun with it! There's no right or wrong way to do it. The trick is in choosing the right colors. Go with natural colors and you can't go wrong...... Finishing touches. Add details.... ****With a thin brush paint some random lines using dark blue/gray and brown. This will create the illusion of ridges..... *****For added dimension paint a line whitish line right next to the dark one for a highlight! This really gives it WOW!.... ******Finally, don't forget to add a little shadow to the grout lines. ====This can be achieve by mixing a little blue/gray with tan.====== Paint a thin line along the outer edge of the tile in the grout area and instant shadow!..... *****That's it your done! No sealing with varnish. This paint is self sealing.

No that is not hardwood, it is stamped concrete! found this idea on a local contractor’s website. We contacted him immediately to get an estimate. I have a love for wood that is dark and rustic, so to be able to have the warmth of a deck combined with the ease of concrete? Heavenly! I’ve never seen anything like this before

Just how do you get oil stains out of concrete? Whether the stain is from your own vehicle’s unlucky leak, or from the previous owner of your house, oil stains in the concrete of your driveway or even your back porch can be unsightly and even very irritating. Naturally the earlier that you can treat the stain, the better luck you will have at completely removing it from your concrete surfaces. All is not lost, however, if the stain is older.
