Good old Martha taught us that rather than buying those ridiculously expensive anti-slip mats for a rug, just turn it over and run a few lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Let dry and flip over and your rug wont be going anywhere!

A floor cloth that doesn't slip and slide, or get caught on the door AND is cleanable! Mod Podge and Rug Backing on fabric make it all possible!

DIY Rustic Rug Of Jute Or Sisal Rope. Hot glue the coils. Sew in key spots for durability. Make the smaller pieces first and then attach them together to get a larger rug.

Home improvement stores like Home Depot can cut a large section of carpet of any size and have it finished for you. The end result looks like a designer rug but for half the price. Also, these types of rugs look great layered.
