Did you make this? What type if paint to make it green?
Yes I made this :) I used yellow and green food coloring mixed with Mod Podge.
They are soooo cute. I'm going to make them with Ollie's class. Any tips?
That's a great idea. Let me know what size jar you will be using and I will send you the amount of Mod Podge and food coloring to use. The color will end up 5-10 shades darker once it dries.
Did you paint the inside or outside of the jar?
Hi Carla White. I used green and yellow food coloring and mixed with Mod Podge. I found it colors the jar better and doesn't leave the streaks that using a brush does. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions :)
Hi Tina! Yeah, I saw that in earlier posts. But did you paint the outside or inside of the jar? It is adorable by the way! I would love to do a pumpkin like that!
Hi Carla, my apologies. It's the inside of the jar :)
Oh ok, no problem. I am going to make one. Great idea, so cute:)
Thank you. Happy to help. Have fun :)
Hi Tina, I am going out today to go get the supplies for this luminary. How much Mod Podge did you use?
It depends on how big you jar is. For a pint size, I would use 3-4 tbsp. for quart size I would use 5-6 tbsp. if you use too much, you have a lot to dump out after and it can get wasteful. Mod Podge isn't cheap so I skimp on what the tinted jar directions suggest.
Ok thanks! What about the food coloring? Just keep on adding it in there until you like the color?
It depends on how dark you want the jar to be. The color will dry about 5 times darker than it looks mixed with mod Podge.
Ok I will have to experiment. My girlfriend is coming over this weekend to make them. What other crafts have you posted on here?
Oh how fun! You girls have a great time. I have posted many of the jars that I made in my #masonjarmama board.
Oh how can I see it?
I got it! Did you put anything else on here besides mason jars?
Just a couple of little things that I've made in my Hey Mom! Check out what I made board. I think you have to follow me to see them?
Ok I will, thanks:)
