Never again forget your room's paint color choice! On the inside of your light switch or outlet cover, using a permanent marker, just write the paint brand, color name, swatch number on a piece of painter's tape for quick reference. If needed, add the date you did your room makeover. Change the room color? Change the info tape! You can even add a touch of the actual paint in case you need to take it to the paint store to get a color match.
Remembering this when i paint my new house -- To get rid of paint fumes... add a tablespoon of vanilla extract to a gallon of paint, mix well. It does not effect paint color! And makes the whole room smell like vanilla when you're done! Need this now!!!
Hidden Wall Safe $4.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond stores. Looks like an ordinary wall socket, but it's actually a mini wall safe. The compartment behind the socket is the perfect place to keep money, jewelry and other valuables. Easy to install. Measures 7 3/4" L x 3 1/2" W x 2 3/4" D. One-year limited warranty.
GREAT Tip: Take popsicle sticks and paint them the color of every wall in your house. Carry with you on the go to match furniture, curtains, decorations, etc. I've seen the full paint stirrer version of this but love this portable-sized idea!!
trick for hanging photos, especially in a gallery wall: You simply use the painter’s tape to establish the position of the nails on your wall, use a level to keep them straight and hammer the nail into the right spot.
