Carol Burnett Show outtakes - Tim Conway's Elephant Story. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.
there was a TV show called The Carol Burnett Show...it was live....it was funny and it still is. It had an ensemble cast and one of the actors was Tim Conway. He would go off doing ad lib and the rest of the cast had no idea where he was headed. This is one of his classic skits called the elephant story. Old school, really funny, unrehearsed, and one of the greatest punch lines ever. Enjoy!!

Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) >> He was so much fun to watch when I was a kid. His show ran for nearly 30 years (1955-1984) making it the longest-running nationally broadcast children's television program of its day. Keeshan based the show on "the warm relationship between grandparents and children." Keeshan had portrayed the original Clarabell the Clown on The Howdy Doody Show.

Time, Childhood Memories, So True, 50 S, Remote, Walk, Kid
Yes .... even that little bit of exercise has now become too much for us lazy people to endure. Perhaps we should keep our remotes on top of the TV across the room and walk to it every time a show ends, like we used to do.
No couch potatoes back then AND no such thing as a remote! Remote meant secluded or something far away (like the TV) LOL!
changing channels--oh, so true! we kids were often used as the "remote control", and we were not allowed to sit too closely to the TV or it would "ruin our eyes".
And...we only had 3 channels. Yep! and our kids have it good, every tv comes WITH a remote AND batteries! LOL
I remember having to walk to the TV to change the channel. I was also the family remote control, when they'd want the channel changed, they'd make me get up and do it... LOL!
changing channels--oh, so true! Kids were often used as the "remote control"............... IT'S TRUE........ WE HAD NO TV REMOTE CONTROLS MOST OF MY LIFE!!!
When i was your age, we had to walk to the TV to change the channel! We had to turn a dial with numbers on it to select the channel we wanted! We had a choice of channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13, and we were happy to get them! Those were trying times indeed!
We kids were the remote controls to change the channels, so we sat in the floor real close to the TV! And...we only had 3 channels. THREE!
changing channels--oh, so true! And...we only had 3 channels. THREE! Best childhood memories!
Truth, Quote, Bed, Thought, Funny Stuff, So True
true! :) don't stick your let off the bed!!! Monsters and demons will eat it! Ahhhh!!!! Never to old for this to be a fear... Hahahahah lolol joke quote funny
This is so true! I can't stand the thought of being legless because it got eaten off by the monster under my bed!
Thought of you and monsters under your bed. I guess that's why if I sneek over over to your house, you told me I would have to sit on the floor beside you. It just dawned on me that was all a trick! The monster under the bed would eat me, and then you'd just go back to sleep :( It's late and I'm laughing!
"I never stick my leg off the edge of the bed, no matter how hot it is because it would get eaten off." So true... I still step off REALLY far from my bed so the monsters don't grab my foot...
Hahaha, yep thought of that ever since I was little, I know that monsters still hide under my bed waiting to devour my flesh lol:p
This is true, anything you let over the side of the bed is fair game for night monsters. (I also thought I needed to sleep very close to the wall so the monsters that came thru the wall would step over me!!!!)
true story the boogie monster lives under the bed!!
Truth. Monster under the bed fo sho.

Carol Burnett gave us so many great re-occurring sketches - like this one named Nora Desmond, her take on the classic 'Norma Desmond' character Gloria Swanson played in the 1950 movie, Sunset Blvd.
"The Carol Burnett Show" - Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman. (1967-1978). I always thought it was the funniest when she could get Harvey Korman to almost break character by getting him to laugh.

Max (Harvey Korman) and Nora Desmond (Carol Burnett) on The Carol Burnett Show. From Licensemag.com
"The Carol Burnett Show" was so funny to me. I would watch this with my mom and I loved how the actors would have to try so hard not to laugh while doing their skits. Harvey Korman was always a riot and took on the skeezy roles whileTim Conway always played the bumbling idiot type and Carol was always hilarious and overly-dramatic. It was slapstick adult comedy that I enjoyed with a cup of coffee as a 9 year old.
B'day celebrant Carol Burnett as 'Nora Desmond' with Harvey Korman as her bald butler 'Max'

Remember Madame..... she looked just like one of my step-grandmothers! If that's not an 80s statement I don't know what is?!
MADAMES PLACE: looking back I'm shocked at the stuff my parents let me watch. They were conservative and christian and they let me watch things I probably wouldn't let my own kids watch.
I was SO scared of this thing. At 3 years old I remember running as soon as solid gold would come on! Lol wow
Remember Madame? I DO! When I was 12, I had to get my appendix removed and while I was recovering, she was on Solid Gold and made me laugh so hard that my Mom thought I'd pop my stitches!!
