Mine seems to go pretty quick and I dread shelling out another 10 bucks for a new mat. Especially since the craft stores don't allow you to use 40% coupons on anything cricut related! How to make Cricut Cutting mats sticky again - by Sami. Cover the edges of the mat, then spray it (outdoors) with Krylon Easy-Tack. Spray lightly. Let it dry. The adhesive actually needs to dry before it becomes sticky. Dry to touch in 3 hours so says krylon.com. Krylon Easy-Tack is acid free, low odor.
Do you feel like your cricut mats loose their "stick" rather quickly? Here is a quick and inexpensive way to "re-stick" them! You will need a repositionable spray adhesive, I used Krylon. DO NOT use permanent! Tape, my favorite is FROG tape, and a scraper.

For demonstration purposes I chose to put this image directly onto the glass of a frame. Lay your transfer paper, sticky side down. Be sure and score it like I said before with your fingernail or other tool. You want it to be stuck down pretty good before you start peeling the transfer paper away. As you peel, rock it back and forth, and peel it back onto itself.
Frugal tip #2 is to buy your vinyl somewhere other than the craft store. They only have a few colors, you barely get any, and it's $10 a roll. I buy all of my vinyl at our local sign shop. They sell it by the yard (24" x 36") for about $6.
