Cover of my most recently read book. It is the most capturing non-fiction I have ever read. Most of the things I learned while reading this book I never knew that I never knew.

The rare case of book and film both being extraordinary. Yes, it is one view of the antebellum South and Reconstruction and there are many viewpoints and stories from that time. Remember it was written when there were generations alive who survived that time.

    Sounds Great

Disturbing, but couldn't put it down. Couldn't seem to get into the other books in this trilogy though.

Great book. Reading two more by Erik Larson.

Gift from the Sea..the first book..the genesis of our book club

    Great book

    Incredibly interesting and disturbing

The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. This book masterfully combines the true stories of a serial killer and the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. All spoken words are verified from written sources, but it reads like a fast-paced novel. Larson paints an incredible picture of the time period. Needs to be made into a movie!

I cried like a baby. XD My mom actually threw away the VHS of this when I was little.

    Interesting book - worth reading

Awesome book of resilience and sisterhood. My favorite Lisa See book!

Great read. Difficult at times, but worth it!

Read it in a day. Still trying to believe.
