Today in Sports History: June 17 Major League Baseball records were tied or broken in a game between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers.

Game #17: Clay Buchholz fell off the tightrope he'd been walking all night and was charged with 5 runs for the 4th straight time.  He remains a work in progress.  Aceves continued to overthrow his fastball and put 2 on with a walk to Plouffe and a single by Burroughs. He hit No. 9 hitter Alexi Casilla with a pitch, setting the stage for Denard Span with the bases loaded, two outs. Aceves struck out Span with an offspeed pitch. It was Aceves's 4th save.  Red Sox won 7-6.
