Charlie Davidson's Crane Light - The former LEGO concept designer imaginatively reinterpreted the classic Castiglioni Arco lamp, which, when it made is debut in 1962, was an inspired piece of genius in itself. Davidson's contemporary piece of heavy machinery, a 1:50 scale model of the world's tallest crawler crane fixed to an electromagnet glass tube sculpture, is one of the many high lights of the upcoming Salone del Mobile in Milan. Each Cone Lamp’s industrial glass funnel has its individual surface and structure. With the lamp switched off, its cone reflects the daylight and accentuates the low-key design. Its emanating light corresponds with the surrounding light and, depending on daylight intensity, produces various color temperatures and contrasting effects.
