    I was SO lucky to have an amazing teacher in high school that taught me how to do this. I honestly am depressed at the quality of writing my college students turn in to me. I think I may teach them this as well.

    Great way to learn how to summarize. "The incredible shrinking notes"... Write a summary on a large card, then, pass out a post-it note and rewrite the summary to fit the note. Then give an even smaller post-it for a final rewrite. The result...a great summary!
