Visual artist Jim Lambie is well-known for his colorful tape pattern arrangements on the floors of galleries and museums. He uses a simple material like vinyl tape to transform “a quiet gallery space into an energetic and emotional space of sensory pleasure. Lambie creates a rhythm that vibrates and pulsates, and even confuses and disorients the spectator.”
Hmmm, not sure about this concept (Jim Lambie's Floor Installations) for my home, but in the right setting it is an amazing idea. Perhaps a good project for the kids? Give them a ton of different colored rolls of duct tape and the basement floor and tell them, "Have at it"!
Jim Lambie @ the Tate. If you go to the MoMA to see anything right now, you'll have to walk over Jim Lambie's work. It is a full on, pop color installation by Jim Lambie made out of vinyl tape. Could be done as a RUG or on STEPS instead of the whole room.
