Vintage Marta Maas Fjatterstorm Scandinavian Rug #44905 Designed and woven by Marta Maas Fjatterstorm (Märta Måås Fjetterström), Sweden, Second Quarter of the 20th Century - Created by Swedish master designer and weaver Marta Maas-Fjetterström, this outstanding Swedish kilim or flat-woven Rölakan features a bold repeating pattern incorporating divided stepped lozenges decorated with rectilinear dots rendered in alternating colors. Recognized as a master of design, this classic MMF creation features strong geometric lines, simple motifs that double as borders and negative space that accentuates the repeating motifs. Geometric compartments decorated with softly oxidized hues of rosy pink, coco brown, oxidized blue and flaxen yellow complement the neutral oatmeal-colored field and color the borders surrounding the formal repeating motifs.
