These amazing embryonic animal photographs of dolphins, sharks, dogs, penguins, cats and elephants are from a new National Geographic Documentary called Extraordinary Animals in the Womb. The shows producer, Peter Chinn, used a combination of three-dimensional ultrasound scans, computer graphics and tiny cameras to capture the process from conception to birth. They are the most detailed embryonic animal pictures ever seen. gkts

When I was younger, I was obsessed with dolphins. While that has now transferred to pandas (lol) I still love them. They are nature's ENFP. Wild, free, and fiercely loyal. They always looking like they are smiling and having fun frolicking in the sea, you can even hear them laughing! But they are highly intelligent and tough too, they can take down sharks when they have to!

If I could go back in time...I would have been a marine biologist so I could train and spend all day with dolphins. #Nature #ocean #dolphins

Common Dolphins and Sardines by Dmitry Miroshnikov

Dolphins play in the wake of the forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga in the South China Sea. (Tortuga is a part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and is participating in Balikatan 2012, an annual bilateral exercise designed to improve interoperability between the U.S. Navy, Marines and Armed Forces of the Philippines.)
