One of several Neo-lithic masks 7000 BC, found in the Judean desert, probably the oldest masks in the world. (The region is named after the Israelite tribe of Judah, which dominated the area through the Iron Age and established the Kingdom of Judah, which lasted until 586 BCE).
The Moretta - Known also as the Mute Maid Servant, the Moretta “Dark” mask was an oval mask of black velvet with eye holes, but no mouth, worn with a wide brimmed hat and/or a veil. The “silent” aspect arose from the fact that the wearer held the mask to her face by grasping a button between her teeth. The mask was often used by upper class women visiting convents.
One of oldest structures on EARTH. Aprox. 14-17,000 years old & built with construction techniques unknown. Only diamonds are strong enough to cut these stones. Modern diamond tipped drills powered by computers and assisted with heavy machinery today would have great difficulty replicating the stone work.
